In addition to increasing the nutrient efficiency, trenbolone can as no other drug stimulate the following most typical activities of anabolic steroids: acceleration of protein synthesis and maintenance of positive nitrogen balance.  Protein synthesis determines how rapidly the body will build muscles, at that, the higher the nitrogen balance is, the more proteins will be built.  Our muscle tissue consist of about 16% nitrogen, and, despite the fact that this value seems to be low, if the percentage falls below the optimum line, catabolic processes will win the battle in the body.

Combined preparations . A number of trials have been carried out with implants containing two hormones. The combination of an oestrogen with an anabolic steroid, or with progesterone, has met with the greatest responses. Synovex-S has consistently increased gain as well as FCE, with responses averaging about 20% and 17% respectively (20, 21, 22, 34, 35, 36, 37, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48). Hexoestrol + TBA (usually 30 or 45 mg hexoestrol + 300 mg TBA) has resulted in marked increases in gain (24, 25, 26, 29, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53), of the order of 30% and in FCE (25, 49, 50, 51, 53) of the order of 20%. Oestradiol-17β + TBA (20/140 mg) has given similar results (27, 28, 37, 54, 55), as has Zeranol + TBA (36/300 mg), also recently tested (27, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 56).

Like other AAS, drostanolone is an agonist of the androgen receptor (AR). [3] It is not a substrate for 5α-reductase and is a poor substrate for 3α-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3α-HSD), and therefore shows a high ratio of anabolic to androgenic activity. [3] As a DHT derivative, drostanolone is not a substrate for aromatase and hence cannot be aromatized into estrogenic metabolites . [3] While no data are available on the progestogenic activity of drostanolone, it is thought to have low or no such activity similarly to other DHT derivatives. [3] Since the drug is not 17α-alkylated , it is not known to cause hepatotoxicity . [3]
